Prenatal Yoga

I had the opportunity to sub for Susie's prenatal yoga class last night and it was so much fun!  There is nothing like being with a whole bunch of pregnant mamas, it's so magical, and the energy in the room is full of excitement.  Fear but excitement!

I asked the mamas to share one thing they are excited about and one thing they are nervous about, in regards to their pregnancy or life with baby.  Most of them shared that they were excited about baby, obviously, and that they were nervous about how their life would change, with their coming bundle of joy.  It is so funny that we fear this, as new mamas, because we all have this thought but we all just work it out when the baby comes.

Even though you have no idea what is coming for you, you figure it out.  We all figure it out.  There is really nothing to fear but we all share in this same nervous feeling, and when your second one comes, you have the same nervous feeling all over again - regarding life with two!

So, why are we so afraid of the unknown?  Why do we not have the confidence in us to know that we can handle it, whatever life throws at us (including a baby), because we have before?  What are we so afraid of?

You are a great mama, you already have it in you to be what you need to be for your baby, and your family.  You don't have enough energy now and like to lounge on the couch?  I was the biggest lounger of them all and let me tell you, some days I never sit down (as a mom of 2), the energy just comes.  You somehow turn into this super woman fueled by coffee, dirty hands and sloppy kisses - and you just figure it all out.  You can do this, you are a super mama!

Thanks for letting me teach prenatal this week, I hope to see you mamas again soon!
